The Center for Continuing Education (CCE) celebrates a major academic milestone as our esteemed Director, Professor Goddey Wilson, successfully delivered the 78th Inaugural Lecture Series of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE).
The prestigious event, hosted by the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Okechukwu Onuchuku, DSSRS, on behalf of the Senate, Staff, and Students, took place on Thursday, 21st May, 2026, at the University Auditorium.
Addressing ‘The Paradox of Plenty’
Professor Wilson, a distinguished Professor of Public Administration, addressed a critical and timely academic discourse titled:
“THE PARADOX OF PLENTY: OIL WEALTH AND DEVELOPMENT CRISIS IN THE NIGER DELTA, NIGERIA”
During the lecture, Prof. Wilson expertly deconstructed the socio-economic contradictions of resource-rich regions, analyzing why immense oil wealth has historically clashed with development challenges in the Niger Delta. His profound insights highlighted the critical role of public administration, policy reform, and sustainable governance in resolving these long-standing crises.
Celebrating Academic Excellence

As a center, the CCE community is immensely proud of Professor Wilson’s scholarly contributions and leadership. This inaugural lecture not only underscores his individual academic excellence but also elevates the intellectual profile of the Center for Continuing Education and IAUE as a whole.
We extend our heartiest congratulations to Professor Goddey Wilson, B.Sc (UNIPORT), M.Sc, Ph.D (UNN), on this landmark achievement!
